Sokol BINAJ was born on January 19th, 1961 in Gjirokastra. From 1981-1985, he completed his studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana and earned the title of “Lawyer”. Upon completion of his studies, he was appointed judge to the District Court of Tirana for the period August 15th, 1985 to November 16th, 1990. In years 2001-2004, he served as the Head of Cabinet of the General Prosecutor. In 2004, he was appointed judge to the Appeal Court for Serious Crimes in Tirana and in December 2019 was appointed judge to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organised Crime in Tirana.
Mr. Binaj was invited as an expert to attend several crucial trainings in criminal law and criminal procedure. He is a trainer, diploma thesis supervisor at the School of Magistrates of Albania and has also participated at several national and international training activities in the field of law.
He was appointed judge to the Supreme Court by decree no. 12030, dated 19.03.2021 of the President of the Republic.
