Ervin PUPE was born in Tirana, on February 21st, 1973. He is married and has two children. He completed his studies in Law from 1991-1995 and postgraduate studies in civil law in 2001-2003 at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana.
In 2003-2005, he completed his postgraduate studies in European law at the European Institute of the University of Geneva (IEUG, Switzerland). He obtained “Doctor of Juridical Science” Degree in civil law in 2009 and earned the title of “Associate Professor” (Prof.Assoc.Dr.) in 2015. In 1995, he practiced law at the Legal Directorate of the former Ministry of Labour and Migration. In February 1996, he was appointed full-time lecturer at the Civil Law Department of the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana, as a lecturer/co-lecturer of “EU Private Law” and “Law of Obligations and Contracts” courses. From 2013 he has taught civil law courses (obligations) in the initial training program and has been legal expert at the continuous training program of judges and prosecutors at the Albanian School of Magistrates.
From September 2013 to March 2020, he was the head of the School of Advocacy at the Albanian Chamber of Advocacy. From 2007 to March 2020 he practiced the lawyer’s profession and was an expert both inside and outside Albania, being contracted by organisations such as European Institute of Tirana, the Observatory for the Children’s Rights, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe ( OSCE), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and ABA ROLI (American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative).
Mr. Pupe is the author of several lecture collections and series in the contract law, comparative civil law, European Union law, etc; the author of several writings in the national and international scholarly journals; and participant and speaker at many national and international scientific conferences. Additionally, he is the author, co-author or editor of several legal expertise reports and professional handbooks for the lawyer profession.
Mr. Pupe was appointed judge to the Supreme Court by decree no. 11453, dated 11 March 2020, of the President of the Republic from among the prominent jurists.
