Court Chancellor

The chancellor is appointed and dismissed by the President of the Supreme Court. He or she is under the direct supervision of the President of the Court running the administrative activity of the Supreme Court. The Chancellor directs all the support services in the Supreme Court.

The Chancellor must be a lawyer who has exercised the legal professions for not less than 7 years.

Department of Economics, Personnel and Services
The Department of Economics, Personnel and Services is divided into two sectors: the Finance Sector and Internal Order and Personnel Sector. The main functions of this department are: the administration and management of the budget of the Supreme Court, the supervision of the administrative personnel, and maintenance of peace and order aiding the institutions to best provide its services.

Department of Studies, Publications and Informatics

The Department of Studies, Publications and Informatics is divided into two sectors: the Studies and Library Sector and the Informatics Sector. The main functions of this department are: the collection and study of legal literature on various issues to help judges’ decision-making process, preparing academic materials in the field of jurisprudence and law for the institution, ensuring an efficient library service, as well as update and maintain the official website of the court.

Department of Public and Foreign Affairs

The Department of Public and Foreign Affairs, is divided into Sectors: the Public Relations Sector and the Foreign Affairs Sector. The main functions of this Department are: the organization of official visits for delegations of the Supreme Court as well as the receiving of foreign delegations, establishment of new partnerships and consolidation of relations with local and foreign courts and relevant institutions, the proposal and initiation of structured collaboration ideas. This department is also responsible to maintain and develop court-media relations while ensuring an adequate access to the general public as stipulated by the Albanian legislation.

Department of Judicial Administration

The Department of Judicial Administration is responsible to meet all the procedural requirements for cases submitted to the Supreme Court. The procedural tasks the department needs to carry out are foreseen in the provisions of the Code of Civil and Criminal Procedure as well as other additional specific legislation.
