ARBENA AHMETI

Member of the Supreme Court

Arbena Ahmeti was born in Lushnje, on November 20th, 1980. She is married and has two children.

Mrs. Ahmeti was graduated from Faculty of Law, University of Tirana in July 2003, and earned the title of «Jurist» with excellent grades. In 2004, she worked as jurist at the Juridical Directorate at the Municipality of Tirana. In 2006, she completed her studies at the School of Magistrates with high grades and earned the title of “Magistrate-Judge”.

She was appointed judge to the District Court of Tirana during the third year of studies at School of Magistrates by decree of the President of the Republic dated 04.10.2006

After the completion of her studies at the School of Magistrates in October 2007, she was designated judge to the First Instance Court of Lushnja at the section for the adjudication of administrative disputes. In July 2013, she was appointed judge to the First Instance Administrative Court of Tirana by decree of the President of the Republic.

During the exercise of judge office, she has attended various training programs organized by the School of Magistrates within the framework of continuous training program and by other national and international organizations in the capacity of participant and expert. Since 2011, she was engaged at the School of Magistrates in the continuous training program in the panel of trainers in the role of facilitator and expert. The narrow area of expertise is the Administrative Law.

From July 2017 to November 2021, she served as magistrate supervisor at the Administrative Court for the third-year magistrate candidates of the School of Magistrates. Moreover, during 2019 she was trained as magistrate trainer at the French National School for the Judiciary (Bordeux). (Special Training Program for foreign magistrates being organized by the French National School for the Judiciary and the French Embassy in the Republic of Albania.

She was the Administrative Court’s representative at the working group for the drafting of the Administrative Procedure Code by the Albanian Assembly during 2014-2015 and part of the working group in a series of other initiatives of such a category (amendments to the law on public procurement, law on the restitution of property to the former owners, etc).

She is Board member of the Albanian Forum of Women Judges and of the Union of Albanian Judges (UAJ).

She was appointed judge to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Albania by decree no.13477, dated 16.02.2022 of the President of the Republic.
