Members of the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is composed from 17 Justices. The Justices are appointed from among the judges who have exercised this profession for no less than ten years or among prominent lawyers, who have exercised this profession for a period of not less than 15 years. They are appointed from the President of the Republic, with the consent of the Parliament, and hold the office for 9 years without the right of re-appointment. Justice may only be citizens with higher legal education. The conditions and procedures for selection are defined by law.
